Recently, Dr. Sharma and the Aura Orthodontics team held a grand opening evening soiree to officially welcome area dentists, members of the community and media to view the new facility. Guests enjoyed a live DJ, wine, and hors d’oeuvres against the backdrop of the Aura Orthodontic office lounge area
In building his vision for the perfect practice, Dr. Sharma visited many orthodontic offices to gain insight into the details involved in attaining the best technical and aesthetic standards, in addition to designing a practice that would function at optimal efficiency. By utilizing the latest technology Dr. Sharma will be able to move teeth into alignment more efficiently, while at the same time providing greater patient comfort and in some cases, reducing the need to extract teeth. Within the new Aura Orthodontics’ space, Dr. Sharma and team have included technological advancements like, digital charting to create a paperless office, digital imaging & radiology, computer sign-in, a sterilization centre, and digital impressions.
“We were not just thinking about the here and now, but 10 or 15 years down the line,” he said. A fan of the ocean and beaches, Dr. Sharma wanted to bring vibrancy to the walls with bright colors of turquoise and green, all contributing to what he calls “an overall aura of relaxed modernity.” The new location meets all of those needs, in addition to providing easy access to patients in Surrey, Delta, Cloverdale, Coquitlam, and other nearby cities.
In order to keep any possible nerves calm and create a sense of playful fun, Dr. Sharma has also introduced gaming stations and a giant TV with a full range of cable stations allowing everyone to stay happily occupied until appointments begin. And in the realm of comfort, Dr. Sharma notes that he encourages parents to accompany their children into the treatment area and has provided a seating area for parents, siblings and even friends to make the treatment that much more comfortable for patients.
“I feel the most rewarding part of being an orthodontist is watching the transition a patient makes during treatment. Not only the physical change to having a beautiful new smile, but the greater feeling of esteem and confidence that comes with it,” Dr. Sharma said. “The best and most rewarding part of being an orthodontist is making a positive change in how patients feel about themselves; this process has increased with our brand new efficient office space.
