Dr. Vishal Sharma would like to thank his own mother as well!
“My mother has led a fascinating life and serves as a source of inspiration. She’s humble, yet tenacious, and pushes me to constantly follow my dreams,” says Sharma.
Dr. Sharma’s mom played on the national field hockey team in India, winning the World Cup twice! When her athletic career came to a close, she devoted herself to her career as a successful Sun Life Insurance provider all while raising three boys. Her versatility and strength had a huge impact on her sons.
Dr. Sharma, now a Surrey orthodontist, remembers vividly when his mother told him that the value of education is not something anyone can take away from you. She encouraged him to continue to apply to universities even as the deadlines approached. His mom is a big believer in leaving no stone unturned and Dr. Sharma did just that. He was accepted at New York University and with his mother’s support he pursued dentistry with an orthodontics specialty.
His mother taught her children the importance of a tight knit family and community. She passed on her outgoing personality and dedication to her sons. Following in his mother’s footsteps, Dr. Sharma firmly believes in community outreach through charitable donations, planning cultural events and orthodontics. He is grateful to his mother for her unconditional love and guidance.
